About Reiki
Reiki is the combination of two Japanese words Rei which means Universal Consciousness, and Ki which means Life Energy or Life Force.
Reiki originates from Japan and came into being at the end of the 19th century by Mikau Usui. After many years in his quest for a unique healing modality, he is said to have experienced an event that would change his life forever. He simultaneously began to feel a healing force, intuited symbols and mantras needed to harness the healing force of Reiki Chakra balancing
Usui passed the keys of Reiki healing to several Masters, who subsequently passed this knowledge to their students. One student became a well known Reiki Master, Hawayo Takata- a Hawaiian-American who is credited with the introduction of Reiki to the West after the Second World War.
What to Expect
Reiki is one of a kind and an incredibly powerful healing modality. The treatment consists of the client lying down, fully clothed, on the therapy couch (or seated if preferred). During the Reiki treatment, the practitioner channels Reiki healing energy through their hands by placing their hands on or just above the client's body, in a series of different positions. The Reiki energy will flow to where it is needed, clearing and healing the energy pathways.
During the treatment you may feel tingling sensations, see colours, images or experience a surge of emotion; however, some clients just feel extremely relaxed or can fall asleep. Reiki is an exceptionally deep healing system, working on the Mind, Body, and Soul, restoring the Life Force to flow in a healthy and natural way. chakra balancing bio-energy healing, Wigton
